Laura Hanrahan, ESB apprentice and seated first left said “In addition to learning facts and procedures, apprenticeship is also about gaining much sought-after transferable skills, including adaptability, independent thinking, teamwork and problem-solving – skills I will be able to use in all areas of life, and take with me to any number of other job roles as my career develops.”

33 Apprentices from specialisms ranging from Toolmaking, Aviation, Metal Fabrication and Electrical, were involved in the design, planning and completion of the entry. With support from their tutors, they formed partnerships with local suppliers who provided materials and additional technical advice.
